Abstract: Jakob Rosenfeld is an Austrian Jewish doctor who came to China in the 1930s and served in People's Liberation Army. Marginal in the annals of Jewish history, Rosenfeld is revered in China. This lecture intends to explore the question whether Rosenfeld’s Jewish background is a key to understanding his remarkable personal adventure in China.
